50 Years of Advocacy and Activism:

Then and Now, the Work of Robert F. Kennedy Continues

As we witness ongoing and escalating global threats to our fundamental human rights and democratic values, the legacy of Robert F. Kennedy, fifty years after his historic run for president, takes on an even greater sense of meaning and urgency. On this site you will find seven Speak Truth To Power lessons that highlight a human rights issue Robert F. Kennedy sought to advance in his lifetime. Each features a 'then' human rights advocate that defended human rights in Bobby's era alongside current a day, or 'now' Defender. Through teaching these, and other Speak Truth To Power lessons to students, we are committing ourselves to educating youth by providing them with the necessary tools to combat hate, bigotry and discrimination, and to ensure a more just and peaceful world.
